Posting & managing jobs
Add jobs in the admin, choose their placement tier, and understand job statuses.
Jobs are a post type of their own. Manage them under Jobs in the admin: All jobs and Add job, plus Employers, Categories and Job types to sort them.
What a job holds#
- Title and description
- Employer (company), category and job type
- Location, or remote work
- Placement tier: Premium Plus, Premium or Basic
- Closing date (the job is shown as closed after it)
- How to apply: an e-mail address for the built-in application form, or an external link
- Optional photo (featured image)
- Whether the job is filled
Placement tiers#
The board home shows one column per tier — Premium Plus, Premium and Basic — with the number of jobs set in Jobs per tier column. The Jobs dashboard counts Premium Plus and Premium jobs together as Premium listings.
Open and closed jobs#
A published job is Open until its closing date passes or it is marked as filled; then it is Closed. The dashboard lists jobs that expire within the next 7 days.
Job ads from users#
Signed-in users can post job ads for their own companies in the jobs account. With review switched on (Jobs → Settings → Board → New job ads), these ads arrive as Pending and the contact e-mail gets a message “Job ad waiting for review” with a link to review and publish. Pending ads are counted as Waiting for review on the dashboard. With review off, they go live right away.
Ads posted from the jobs account start as Basic. With the Paid Listings add-on, the tier comes from the package the employer buys.
Publishing and job alerts#
When a job is published, users with matching “right away” job alerts get an e-mail about a minute later. Daily and weekly alerts pick it up in their next digest.
