Moving from another theme
Move your stories and settings over from another news theme without losing data.
News. → Import from theme is built for sites coming from the two biggest ThemeForest news themes:
- JNews (including common JNews meta: subtitle/dek, video, premium/paywall flags, reviews, views, sponsored, source/via, primary category, category colors).
- Newspaper (tagDiv) (tagDiv post options and related meta into the same News. fields).
It copies that story data into News. fields in batches, can run a dry test first, and never changes or deletes the old theme’s data — you can switch back. Running it again is safe; nothing is duplicated. Source/via credits and sponsor disclosure land in the Credits & sponsor box.
First-class sources: JNews and Newspaper only. Other themes (Publisher, Soledad, Sahifa, …) are not mapped yet. For those, keep your posts as they are and fill Story settings / Credits by hand where needed, or ask support — more sources may be added later. Layouts, menus and widgets are not imported; rebuild the front page with News. blocks (or Elementor) after the meta migration.
After migrating: activate News. + News. Core, run News. → Import from theme, pick the detected source, then set a design style and rebuild menus / the front page.
