Sitemaps
The XML sitemap that helps search engines find your content.
Core SEO → Sitemaps. Core SEO uses WordPress’ own sitemap at /wp-sitemap.xml and makes it SEO-correct:
- Content types, taxonomies and single items hidden from Google are left out automatically.
- Every item gets its last-modified date.
- Author sitemaps only when Include author archives is on.
- Old addresses from Yoast SEO and Rank Math (
/sitemap_index.xml,/sitemap.xml) forward here.

Submit /wp-sitemap.xml in Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools. Premium adds a Google News sitemap (see News & indexing).
