How licences work
A yearly licence gives you updates, demo content and support for one year, on a set number of live sites.
Every product and bundle is sold with a yearly licence. It gives you:
- Updates — new versions in Dashboard → Updates and in your account under Downloads;
- Demo content for themes that ship with demos;
- Support from the people who built the product.
Live sites, staging and local#
A licence covers a number of live sites (one live site for every product and bundle). Local and staging copies are free and unlimited: addresses ending in .local, .test or .localhost, starting with staging. or dev., and common host staging domains (for example *.wpengine.com, *.kinsta.cloud, *.instawp.xyz).
What a key unlocks#
| You bought | The key unlocks |
|---|---|
| A single theme, plugin or add-on | That product |
| News. | News. and the News. Core plugin that ships with it (not the Jobs products) |
| Jobs stack | JobCore and every Jobs add-on |
| Full access | Every theme and plugin — News., every Jobs add-on, Core SEO Premium and new products as they ship — on one live site |
After a year#
If you don’t renew, the products keep working on your sites — nothing is switched off. You simply stop getting updates, new demo content and support until you renew.
All products are GPL-licensed. The licence key is about updates, demo content and support, not about your right to use the code.
