A whole job board, not a starter kit
Most free job board plugins give you a list of jobs and leave the rest to paid extensions. JobCore ships the parts a real board needs on day one:
- Listings that look finished — job types, categories, locations and employer pages with logo, about text and every open role.
- Search people actually use — live search as you type, plus filters for field, job type, place, remote and date; tick several at once, sort by newest.
- Front-end posting — employers post and edit jobs from their account; you can review each ad before it goes live.
- Applications with CV upload — candidates apply on the job page, employers get an applications inbox.
- Job alerts and bookmarks — candidates save searches and get e-mail digests of new matching jobs.
- Made for Google’s job search — every job carries the JobPosting data Google reads, including salary, country and fully remote jobs, and a checklist shows what your jobs are missing. Optionally, Google hears about new and closed jobs right away through its Indexing API.
- Job feeds — an XML feed for job aggregators and an RSS feed for readers, newsletters and partner sites, both filterable by field, type or place.
- Sign-in on the board — sign-in, sign-up and password reset in the board’s own look; at sign-up people say whether they are looking for a job or hiring.
- Light and dark — visitors switch between light, dark and their device’s setting in the profile menu.
Inside your theme — or a standalone portal
JobCore is a standard WordPress plugin. Install it from Plugins → Add New, run the two-minute setup wizard and the board lives at /jobs/. In the wizard you choose how it looks:
- Inside your theme — job pages use your site’s own header and footer, so the board feels like part of the site you already have. It fits seamlessly inside the News. theme too.
- Standalone portal — a modern jobs site of its own: its own header, footer and styles, with your logo, accent colour and hero image, as if it were a separate job portal. See job board WordPress theme.
You can switch between the two any time under Jobs → Settings — your jobs, employers and applications stay exactly where they are.
Its own account for candidates and employers
JobCore comes with a complete front-end account, so nobody has to see the WordPress admin:
- Employers post and edit job ads, manage one or more company profiles (logo, about text, website, LinkedIn and billing details), and work through an applications inbox where each application can be marked new, shortlisted or rejected.
- Candidates keep their bookmarks, manage their job alerts and see the status of every application they sent.
Each account is for job seeking or for hiring, so everyone sees only the screens they need. People who do both switch with one click — or you keep job seekers and employers strictly separate.
Privacy built in
CVs and photos are stored privately and deleted automatically after the number of days you choose, while the application record stays. JobCore also plugs into the WordPress personal-data export and erase tools, so answering a data request takes a click.
When you want to earn from your board
The core stays free forever. When the board has traffic, add only what you need from the Add-ons screen inside the plugin:
| Add-on | What it does |
|---|---|
| Paid Listings | Sell job packages through WooCommerce checkout — see how to charge for job postings. |
| Promoted Ads | Photo cards for promoted listings, picked by you or bought at checkout. |
| Field Editor | Your own fields on the job ad and the apply form — salary, experience, LinkedIn. |
| Resumes | A candidate database: resumes employers can search — free, approved employers only, or paid access — with contact details shared only when the candidate says yes. |
| Ad Manager | Banner slots on the board, job and employer pages: your own campaigns with booking and reports, your ad code or Google ads, plus wallpaper takeovers. Employers can also book and pay for banners themselves in their account. |
| Looks | Premium looks for the whole board: Marketplace, and Explorer with a filter sidebar and detailed job rows. |
All add-ons together are the Jobs stack, one yearly licence for every add-on, present and future.
