Answers to common questions and the messages JobCore shows.
Before contacting support, open Jobs → Settings → System status and include what it shows, together with your licence key.
How do I get rid of “You are nearly ready to start listing jobs”?#
Finish the setup wizard or click Skip setup. Skipping keeps the defaults.
The board addresses contain ?wpjc_view= instead of /jobs/all/.#
Your site uses plain links. Choose any other option in Settings → Permalinks. Clean addresses also need the jobs page to be published.
The jobs page is missing.#
System status shows Jobs page: missing. Open the setup wizard, step Pages, leave the box ticked and click Create page and continue.
The board is empty.#
Add a job with Add job in the top bar of the Jobs panel, or create sample jobs under Jobs → Settings → Sample content to preview the board. Remove the samples before you go live.
I cannot choose “News. site header”.#
That header needs the News. theme. Without it, use the Jobs portal header.
Visitors see a “Looks” tab on the right edge.#
The Demo look switcher is on. Set it to Off under Jobs → Settings → Look & colours.
Candidates cannot upload their CV.#
Documents must be PDF, DOC or DOCX (up to 3 files, 15 MB in total) and photos JPG, PNG or GIF (up to 8 MB). These limits are lowered to your server’s upload limit; System status shows both and warns when the server allows less than 8 MB. Ask your host to raise the upload limit if needed.
Applications or alerts do not arrive.#
Everything is sent with WordPress e-mail. System status shows whether e-mail sending is available. If e-mails still do not arrive, check your site’s mail setup with your host or an SMTP plugin. Job alerts also depend on WordPress’s scheduled tasks (WP-Cron).
Who gets the “Job ad waiting for review” e-mail?#
The Contact e-mail in Jobs → Settings → Contact & links, or the site admin e-mail when it is empty.
Messages in the jobs account#

Do I need a licence for the board to work?#
No. The licence only turns on automatic updates. The licence messages are explained in the Licence & updates article.
An add-on says it “is an add-on for JobCore”.#
Install and activate JobCore. Paid Listings also needs WooCommerce; until it is active, posting jobs stays free.
The import says “This is not a JobCore jobs file”.#
Only files made with Download jobs file on a JobCore site can be imported. The file must be .json and at most 12 MB. Nothing is changed when the import fails.
