Import / export
Save jobs, employers and board settings to a file, or load them on another News. site.
Jobs import and export live on the News. theme’s tools screen, News. → Import / Export, in a Jobs section. With the News. theme it is also linked from the JobCore sidebar under System → Import / Export. You need to be allowed to edit theme options and other users’ posts (administrators can).
Export jobs#
Click Download jobs file. You get a .json file named after your site and the date, for example example.com-jobs-2026-10-03.json. It contains:
- job ads — published, pending, drafts, scheduled and private — with their photos’ addresses
- employers with their company details and logos, categories and job types
- the board settings
- with the Field Editor add-on: its fields and the jobs’ extra field values
- with the Promoted Ads add-on: its settings and promoted jobs
Applications are not included.
Import jobs#
- Choose a jobs file exported from a JobCore site (
.json, max. 12 MB). - Optional: tick Move job ads that are not in the file to the Trash (exact copy).
- Click Import jobs.
Jobs, employers, categories and job types are matched by slug: existing ones are updated, new ones are created. Photos and logos are downloaded when the original site is still reachable. Board settings in the file are applied. A message tells you how many job ads and employers were imported.
